Parenting Counseling

While parenting can be incredibly fulfilling, this role can also be met with immense struggles, isolation, and doubts. We can offer support to parents to better understand their own needs, and individual, family, and parenting values. We can support in shaping communication styles that build relationships and encourage positive behavior change.

Guiding Behavior Counseling has SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) trained therapists to provide evidence-based interventions to parents in supporting children with anxiety disorders and OCD. Guiding Behavior Counseling also has experience in crisis training and support within challenging family behavioral interactions. Guiding Behavior Counseling can support in developing crisis and family safety plans to reduce challenging and dangerous interactions, increasing healthy interactions within a family, and supporting parents when experiencing behavioral challenges with their kids (such as potty training, sleep disturbances, aggression, symptoms related to anxiety/OCD, or symptoms of ADHD/executive functioning concerns).

Guiding Behavior Counseling specializes in understanding and supporting impacts of neurodiversity and the impact of diagnoses such as ADHD and high-functioning Autism within the family and parenting.
